📚 Nicole D. Smith-Schultz, M.Ed. – Author | Educator | Literacy Advocate

Nicole is a passionate advocate for education and literacy. As a seasoned educator with a thriving career in New Jersey’s public schools, Nicole developed a deep commitment to children's literacy, which naturally led her to storytelling. After earning her first Master’s degree in 2012, she began pursuing her longtime dream of becoming an author. In 2014, she self-published her debut children’s book, Could My Teacher Be a Superhero?, launching her journey as both an author and literacy champion. She is the founder of Books By Nicole, a company dedicated to publishing children’s books that promote positive messages and reflect authentic childhood experiences. Nicole is frequently invited to speak at educational and literary events across New Jersey and Pennsylvania, where she shares her insights as both an educator and writer.

In her writing, Nicole often draws from her experiences in the classroom to create stories that are engaging, relatable, and empowering for young readers. She currently serves as a School Library Media Specialist and holds two Master’s degrees in education and library science.

Nicole continues to write stories that center children’s voices—and is now expanding into fiction for young adults and adults, exploring themes of identity, growth, and healing.

When she’s not writing or championing books, she enjoys life at home in New Jersey with her husband, daughter, and stepboys :-)
